Approach

APPROACH:

My overall approach is relational and holistic.

  • I’m medication-positive and will make suggestions to your Doctors when needed and with your consent.
  • We will work together to understand your unique mast cell triggers and clarify the role of nutrition therapy.
  • I will support your relationship with food and help make nutrition therapy more accessible. Currently, I’m enrolled in a neuro-affirming ARFID course.
  • Strict, elimination diet recommendations are reserved for celiac disease, food allergies and other immune-driven responses to food. We will gradually expand your threshold of tolerance for common food sensitivities (histamine, fodmaps, etc.). This process involves earning your trust, seeing positive results over time and my commitment to learning clinical skills beyond elimination diets. Optimizing digestive health is my jam, and often increases food tolerance.
  • Our end goal is supporting homeostasis, the body’s overall balance, by meeting nutrition needs. Nutrition care plans are highly individualized and may focus on dietary diversity, caloric energy, protein, fiber, fluids and relevant vitamins and minerals. Along the way, we’ll honor your body’s symptoms and provide creative solutions for managing pain/fatigue.
  • At this time, I work with standard lab tests and can review functional medicine tests you’ve already completed. I offer continuous glucose monitoring interpretation for those managing The Trifecta and blood sugar imbalances (hyper or hypoglycemia).
  • With the right support and a comprehensive treatment plan, I believe it’s possible to have “more good days than bad days” (to quote Dr. Lawrence Afrin, MD). I’m here to make lifestyle interventions less stressful and more impactful for you!

Please note that I work with adult patients (18 or older) and am unable to provide enteral or parenteral nutrition care. I will do my best to re-refer you to someone who can help.
